SOFTBALL RULES

RULES FOR SOFTBALL.

Teams will enter and play two games each on the Sat. August  7, 2010 @ THE POWERADE CENTRE
 (3) games if you make it to semi finals (4) games if you go to championships.

Your team roster must remain the same. No new players will be permitted after roster sheet is done.

*14 players maximum (you can sit players for maximum 1 game, but they must be present)
FLIP OF A COIN WILL DECIDE HOME TEAM..

HOME TEAM WILL SUPPLY GAME BALLS

EACH TEAM WILL PROVIDE ONE UMPIRE TO HELP THE OTHER GAMES.

All games will be 7 innings or 65 min long
In an attempt to get in a full 7 innings of play, a pitcher will receive 5 warm ups the first inning,  A new pitcher will receive 5 warm ups.

*** championship game will have no time limit. ***

* Infield/Outfield balls will be permitted in the 1st inning only. No team huddles between innings. 1 minute between innings.

*** You must supply your own Pitcher

*** 3 pitches maximum per player at bat

       No stealing bases

 
Co-ed Batting Order / Line-up: Must contain a minimum of 2 females. May play with 9 players with an automatic out registered in the 10th position.   Maximum 2 males batting in a row in a fixed batting order. Maximum 6 males in the playing field.

Ties are allowed in Round Robin Play. International Tie Break Rule for Elimination Games. Mercy is 12 runs after 5 completed innings (4 ½ if home team ahead).

Mercy rule: 6 runs per inning only last inning is open.
**  If the home team is winning in the bottom of the 7th or last inning they do not bat. (or if time elapses while in the bottom of an inning and the Home team is ahead - the score will stand at that point).

TOP TEAM IN POINTS AFTER THREE GAMES WILL GET BYE TO FINALS

***     Absolutely no contact at home plate, scoring and commitment line to be used in all games. Tagging allowed between scoring/commit line.  No sliding/diving at home.

Third strike foul is an out. Any foul tip caught is an out.
***     It is the responsibility of both teams to keep score, and report the score within 15 minutes after the game.
Any player, coach, or person directly affiliated with your team caught consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages at any of the city parks during the tournament will result in the disqualification of your team and full forfeiture of any prizes.

WIN= 2 POINTS
LOSS=  0 POINTS
TIES;  1 POINT PER TEAM.
IN THE SEMI FINAL- IF A TIE OCCURS (MOST HOME RUNS) WINS EXTRA POINT.

FINALS PLAY EXTRA INNING TO DECIDE WINNER

TEAM SPIRIT WILL COUNT FOR 1 POINT, SO HAVE FUN AND BE HAPPY...

SCORE KEEPERS ARE NEEDED.....

 BASES ARE NEEDED IF ANYONE HAS.
